Wedding Venue

Maudsley State Park in Newburyport, MA is where Charlie and I will be getting married on June 21, 2008. We are really excited about this venue but it has a few pros and cons.
-
Pros: Charlie grew up right across the street – his mom , Irene, still lives in his childhood home. Some of our favorte summer memories involve maudsley and the 500 acres. There is a lot of flexibility in term of space to spread out – have the ceremony and reception. It is beautiful there. Used to be a millionaire’s estate in the 50’s. It’s a casual place for a casual wedding.
-
Cons: We can only serve beer and wine at reception. Mosquitos – I have try to figure how to keep them away. The venue is not suitable for children as a reception (it’s a bummer, but it would take a lot of effort to keep all the kids from exploring the 500 acres), The party has to end at 6 PM. I have to plan it and rent EVERYTHING. I’ll have to spread the word to wear suitable shoes.
J & C, This venue is beautiful. MP & I went to a wine tasting here a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with the location. Sounds like a perfect place for a perfect couple.
